You can avoid future problems by keeping your registry optimized and clean. You may try installing older software that is not compatible with Windows 7. When doing so the software will make changes to the registry. You need to delete or repair these registry entries that try to reference software that is not there or not working properly.

Most people do not do this and this is where problems begin. The more corrupt or orphaned registry entries you have the slower your computer will become.
